This photo was taken by Andrey Antov and was submitted to Digital Photography Magazine in the Best Shot category. What I really like about this shot is the almost awkwardness of the depth of field. The spider is in perfect focus as is the greenery in the bottom left corner but there are really blurry bits of greenery in the bottom right side. Also the entire top of the mushroom is in focus while the stem seems blurry. I think the spider being over at the side instead of centered gives the image a better balance. I like that the top of the mushroom and the spider are the brightest colored things in the picture.
The way this photo is shot the spider looks like a giant in a miniature landscape. There is a sense of a 'horizon line' in the background, and the greenery in the foreground, the way the rise up from the bottom of the frame, look like trees.
