Weekly Photo Review

Photo by Timothy Burkhart and Stephanie Bassos. This photo was taken on the same film by two separate photographers. Bassos used an entire roll of film and photographed only people then Burkhart reloaded the same film and photographed only places. This photo is the original it has not been edited.
I personally liked this photo better than the others because I thought the way the leaves and the buildings overlap is very interesting. The girl and the building occupy the same space but somehow it still feels balanced to me. Maybe because she/it is offset by the sky/wall/car. I think the color and lighting of both exposures manages to come out nicely.

you can find the photo attached to the tumblr blog it came from here

  1. This kind of experimental photography can be fun but is completely unpredictable. I looked through the other photos from the series and I agree that the picture you chose has the most 'serendipity' in it, in the way in which the figure balances out the buildings and scenery. I think it helps that she is wearing a white dress, so there's no need to worry about colors clashing, and that the lacy designs in it happen to work well with the patterns of leaves in the 'other' photo. A fun project that kind of needs film to work. It wouldn't be nearly as interesting if it was digital.
