Weekly Photo Post #1
This photo captured my interest mostly because of the vantage point. I love pictures taken like this. looking up from underneath. It was taken as a series of shots of plant life in L.A. My eye starts at the tree trunk on the right and travels all the way up to the sky before I'm able to take in the rest of the photo. The picture is a juxtaposition between nature and the city. Most of the frame is taken up by trees and sky but you can catch glimpses of the city in the lower background. I don't always like perfect symmetry so the way the trees cut through the corner on the image diagonally really attracted me.

Thanks for the post. This photo is a great example, like you said, of exploring vantage point to create composition. The wide angle lens distorts the photo which gives it visual interest, and the lines of the tree trunks lead your eye from the bottom of the image directly to the top, where the dramatic, high-contrast clouds are.
